Compact hybrid silicon microring resonator lasers
Compact hybrid silicon microring resonator lasers and modulators are being investigated presently. The attractive figures of merit include good spectral purity and easiness of on-chip integration for traveling-wave light propagation nature, small footprint, and unique unidirectional bistability. They are promising candiates for high-speed, low-power consumption optical interconnects, memories, all optical signal processing and seneors, etc.
