(805) 450-6274 Jared Bauters received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 2008 and his M. S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California Santa Barbara in 2010. He is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of California at Santa Barbara. His research interests include the design, fabrication, and characterization of optoelectronic devices using an ultra-low-loss, silica-based planar waveguide platform. His undergraduate research involved the initial development and optimization of a novel process for growing wet-thermal native oxides on GaAs, including electrical and optical characterization of the oxide-GaAs interface.
