Alexander Spott received his B.S. degree in Physics from University of Washington, Seattle, in 2011 and his M.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of California, Santa Barbara, in 2015. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara. 

His research interests include mid-infrared optoelectronics and silicon photonic integration. He received a National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship in 2012.
