Hsu-Feng Chou received the B.S. degree in physics and the M.S. degree in electro-optical engineering from National Taiwan University (NTU), Taipei, Taiwan, in 1996 and 1998, respectively. His research in NTU focused on quasi-phase-matched second-order nonlinear effects for IR generation. From 1998 to 2000, he served in R.O.C. Navy as an Engineering Officer. In 2005, he received the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), where his research involved various optoelectronic sub-systems based on traveling-wave electroabsorption modulators for advanced WDM and OTDM systems, with particular interests on 3-R regeneration and 160-Gb/s technologies. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher in UCSB working on coherent optical integrated receiver and reconfigurable optical router.
