Abstract: The Center for Nanoinetgration Duisburg-Essen (CENIDE) is a research center that focuses on nanoscience as the main research area of the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE, Germany). Since 2005, CENIDE links the activities in natural science, engineering and medicine at the UDE that deal with the nano dimension. The experience of more than 65 working groups is divided into five research areas: Dynamic Processes in Solids, Gas-phase Synthesis, Magnetism, NanoBioMaterials, NanoEnergyTechnology. In the unique research building Nano Energy Technology Center (NETZ) at the campus in Duisburg fundamental research and applied processing for energy technology are linked. The Interdisciplinary Center for Analytics on the Nanoscale (ICAN) with its unique analysis equipment and with the appropriate expertise is open for internal as well as external use. Since 206, the UDE educates future nano experts within the bachelor and master program NanoEngineering.
