Bozhang Dong received his B. E. Degree in Optoelectronic Information Engineering from Huazhong University of Science & Technology, China in 2016 and his M. Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering with honors from Paris-Saclay University, France in 2018. He obtained his Ph. D. from Institut Polytechnique de Paris, France in 2021, defending the thesis “Quantum-Dot Laser on Silicon: Nonlinear Properties, Dynamics, and Applications”.
His research activities during Ph. D. allowed him to be awarded 2022 Best Thesis Award from Institut Polytechnique de Paris, 2021 IEEE Photonic Technology Letters Best Paper Award, 2021 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Student Abroad, and Springer Outstanding Ph. D. Research.
He was a Research Assistant (March 2018 – January 2022) at Telecom Paris, Paris, France, and a visiting Scholar (April 2019 – January 2020) at National Tsing Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan. He is currently a Postdoctoral Scholar at University of California, Santa Barbara in Prof. John Bowers’ group. His research interests include quantum-dot laser for silicon photonic integrated circuit, optical frequency comb, and nonlinear dynamics of semiconductor laser.
